The Javelin of Jealousy
By Pastor Scott | June 16, 2009
Join me on Sunday, June 14th as I talk about an emotion that surfaces at an early age and can last a lifetime. It’s an emotion that can wreak friendships and the love between companions who thought they were inseparable. It has caused nations to go to war and it’s that feeling you experience when someone lives in a better house, drives a nicer car and has more than you by way of possessions. It’s the emotion that Shakespeare called “The green-eyed monster”. Pastor Scott’s message is entitled “The Javelin of Jealousy.”

God’s Love
By Pastor Scott | May 25, 2009
I can understand God’s justice and holiness. It makes sense to me that He is all-powerful, all-knowing and present everywhere. To believe that God is a good God poses no problem in my understanding. But that God unconditionally loves me? That is nothing short of astonishing.
The love of God is probably the most profound theological concept you will ever encounter in this life. Join me Sunday May 31st in the 9:00 a.m. service and discover God’s amazing love through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus our Lord. This 2 message series is entitled, “God’s Unconditional Love” and “How Is Your Love Life?”

Family Matters
By Pastor Scott | January 9, 2009
Let’s face it, parenting is a tough, exhausting, never ending job. Long hours, low pay, lots of aggravation, and little affirmation. And why do parents suffer so? Because they have a hope that one day this child that started out as a one-celled embryo will grow up to be a responsible and spiritual human being and that one day mom and dad will be able to say, along with the apostle John in 3 John 4, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.”
However, raising a child in the 21st Century can be a very scary proposition. And the question many parents are asking is, “Is it possible to bring up good children in such a crazy and perilous age?”
Join me in the 9:00 a.m. service and find out that God has supplied parents with the necessary instruction and adequate resources to make little disciples for Christ.

Temptation Strategies
By Pastor Scott | September 5, 2008
A mother had just baked some fresh cookies and placed them on the counter to cool. Her little boy made the comment to his mother about how good the cookies smelled. His mother told him not to eat any cookies so as not to ruin his supper. A few minutes passed and the mother walked back into the kitchen and caught him eating one of the cookies. His mother said, “Son, I told you not to eat any cookies, what have you to say for yourself?
He said to his mom, “I really wasn’t going to eat any mom, I just climbed up to smell the cookies and somehow my teeth got caught on one of them.
Now as funny as a story like this may seem, temptation is a serious affliction for us as Christians and it needs serious attention. Temptation is universal – All people are tempted to sin. It is unique – People have different kind of temptations. It is personal – No one likes to talk about temptation. But praise God it is also beatable – It takes a fight of faith.
Join me all this month at the 9:00 A.M. Sunday morning service as we learn the strategies for overcoming temptation in our lives.
