A lesson from the Titanic

By Duane | September 4, 2008

Most have heard the story of the Titanic, the ocean going luxury liner that struck an iceburg and sank on it’s maiden voyage. Did you know that the experienced captain of the Titanic was given 6 warnings to either slow down, change course, or take a more southern route because iceburgs had been sighted?

The captain ignored all the warning signs, falsely believing his ship was unsinkable and that his many years of experience as a captain would keep him from any harm.

I think many times we have that same attitude when it comes to our marriage relationships. We ignore warning signs that “iceburgs” could be looming ahead. We continue on, full steam ahead without due regard of possible consequences.

Check back often because In the next  few weeks we’ll take a look at some potential “icebergs” and the corrective measures we can take to keep our marriage on course. The first iceberg in our sights that we’ll discuss will be unresolved anger.
