Prophet or a Prostitute

By Bryan | February 27, 2009

In each of our lives God will place a vision, a vision for our life, business, marriage, careers, our kids and our relationship with Him. When the vision is cast in your life you will make a decision in that moment to accept it, ignore it or just walk away. Let me say to those who accept the vision that God has placed in your life, your commitment to that vision will be tested. You will then be asked the question, “Are you a prophet to that vision or will you be someone who prostitutes that vision?”
If you are a prophet you will not compromise that vision for the sake of convenience or the easy way out. When you read about the prophets they were unflinching, unchanging and unmovable when it came to their commitment to God’s vision for His people. If you are a prophet, a guardian of the vision, you will forfeit your own agenda for His and you will be less concerned about being liked by people and more focused on Loving people (speaking the truth, because truth sets people free though often they may not like the truth.)
On the other hand if you prostitute the vision you will sell the vision off for 30 pieces of silver. You will sacrifice Love for likeability. It could be a business transaction which causes you to look the other way, it could be ignoring the red flags in your marriage because you want to avoid conflict, and your teen maybe doing, clicking, drinking, smoking the wrong things and you’re looking the other way. When one prostitutes the vision of God it not only affects you, but those God had intended you to impact.

Go after the vision God has for your life, and I promise you will never be the same.
